Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method recognized by the FDA. It will allow you to maintain a beautiful, hair free appearance. Unlike other hair removal methods, professionally applied electrolysis removes all unwanted hair safely and permanently. Because it applies to all skin and hair types, there are no limitations to who can receive treatments.
Frequently Asked Questions......
How does electrolysis work?
There are three basic methods used in electrolysis: galvanic, thermolysis and the blend. In each method, an electric current is applied with a fine probe to each hair follicle, providing heat that destroys hair germ cells. The galvanic method is the original electrolysis modality. It is applied through direct current causing a chemical change in the follicle. Thermolysis, also known as high frequency, uses alternating current to provide heat to the follicle. The blend is a combination of the direct and alternating current, resulting in chemical and heating action in the follicle. This method is well suited for women with PCOS and clients with sensitive skin. I am the only electrologist in the area that uses this method. I evaluate each client on an individual basis and determine which method would be best for there needs.
Is all the hair eliminated in one treatment?
Hair grows in different stages. Because all hair isn't in the same stage at any given time, multiple sessions are needed to destroy the hair when it is in the growth stage. It is in this stage that the most hair germ cells are destroyed and this is how permanent results are achieved. The number of treatments will vary from client to client and also depends on previous hair removal methods, this can be discussed at a free consultation.
Is electrolysis uncomfortable?
It is impossible to destroy hair growth tissue without sensation because each follicle is surrounded by it's own network of nerve endings. I use the best probes on the market which are insulated to provide maximum comfort. Some parts of the body are more sensitive than others and adjustments can be made on an individual basis to make the treatment experience as comfortable as possible.
Where can electrolysis be performed?
Common areas include but aren't limited to: eyebrows, cheeks and sides of face, upper and lower lip, chin, ears, breasts and chest, underarms, bikini line, abdomen, arms, fingers and toes, legs and back. Both men and women receive electrolysis treatments.
